What's in the back room of MediaLab 3D Studio?

While working at MediaLab you often hear the common office noises such as talking, phones, computers and such. In addition to the normal noises there is a variety of noises coming from the back room. In the back room is where we host our print room. Being able to print materials for our clients has become not only a regular event but also a big convenience. To fill the downtime on the printers we have started an online printing company that only does short run printing. We have a variety of products available but are keeping that list limited so that we do not grow beyond our capabilities. Our print manager Frank is the master of the print room and is excited about printing new things for new customers.

Take a look at our new site and feel free to give feedback. Let us know if you have any questions about print that we can answer for you.

Below are a couple of pictures of our print room that one of our graphic designers took!

What is Architectural Rendering?

Some of our longest relationships and biggest clients are with home builders. We create a variety of image types for them but one of the most common requests we get are for Architectural Renderings. This is a fancy way of saying 3D models that look like real photos of buildings, and in this case soon to be built homes. Home builders like having these images to use for design, marketing and sales presentations because these images are exact to scale and are able to depict colors, and the different finishes that will be used. These renderings come in a variety of formats including still images, virtual tours, movie style walk through, interactive floor plans and renovation renderings. These images are popular with new home builders because they clearly show potential buyers the design and final look of a house before the building has begun.

There are a lot of different aspects of rendering that can be discussed so if you would like to read more specifics about a particular aspect let us know and we can blog about it!
